Choose by use case
- Infinite Aeroshow: Consider it for following your own VATSIM flight on a second screen with an airline-style moving map and passenger views.
- SimAware: Consider it for a browser map of VATSIM traffic and ATC sectors that also covers historical flight data.
- VAT-Spy: Consider it for a Windows desktop view of ATC staffing and traffic, with custom filters and map bookmarks.
- VATSIM Radar: Consider it if ATC sectors, bookings, events and weather are what you check most, on the web or in a desktop app.
- VatView: Consider it for a free phone or tablet app that shows VATSIM traffic, ATC and ATIS.
- Volanta: Consider it for a logbook of your own flights across simulators, with VATSIM traffic and ATC coverage on the same map.
Start with what you want to see
A VATSIM live map can show who is online, which ATC positions are staffed, or where your own aircraft is right now. Decide whether network-wide ATC coverage, a phone app, a desktop viewer, a logbook of your flights or the view of your own flight matters most to you.
Web map, desktop program or phone app
VATSIM Radar and SimAware run in a web browser, and VATSIM Radar also offers desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux. VAT-Spy is a Windows desktop program. VatView is an iOS and Android app. Volanta pairs a browser map with a PC app and lists its mobile app under Premium. Infinite Aeroshow runs in a modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to install.
Your simulator does not change the map
VATSIM network maps show flights as the network reports them, whether the aircraft is flown in Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane or another VATSIM-connected simulator. Infinite Aeroshow needs no plugin or add-on in the simulator. VATSIM's pilot guide notes that maps refresh who is online periodically, so a new connection may not appear immediately.
When Infinite Aeroshow is a fit
Infinite Aeroshow follows one live VATSIM flight on an airline-style 3D globe or 2D map, designed for a second screen next to the simulator. Departure, destination and route come from the filed flight plan. Economy adds map layers and airport cards with ATC and ATIS; First Class adds cockpit, wing and seat views. If you mainly check ATC coverage across the network, a radar-style map is closer to that job.
What to check before subscribing
Confirm the network, device compatibility and features you need. Infinite Aeroshow requires a live VATSIM or Infinite Flight flight; it does not track an offline simulator session. Try the service on your own device before choosing a paid plan.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best VATSIM tracker?
It depends on what you want to see. VATSIM Radar documents ATC sectors, bookings, events and weather overlays on a web or desktop map. VatView is a free iOS and Android app. VAT-Spy is a Windows desktop viewer. SimAware is a browser map that includes historical flight data. Volanta logs your own flights and shows VATSIM traffic and ATC coverage. Infinite Aeroshow focuses on an airline-style moving map and passenger views of one flight. Check the source-linked comparison and try the features you need.
Is there a VATSIM tracker app for iPhone or Android?
VatView describes itself as a free mobile app for iOS and Android. Volanta lists a mobile app as part of Premium. VATSIM Radar offers desktop apps for Windows, macOS and Linux alongside its web map. Infinite Aeroshow has no app to install; it runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
Do I need a plugin to see my flight on a VATSIM map?
Not for Infinite Aeroshow. It reads VATSIM network data, so any simulator connected to VATSIM works and nothing is installed in the simulator. Connect to VATSIM first; a flight that is not on the network will not appear. Volanta works differently: its own app tracks flights from your simulator.
Is Infinite Aeroshow free?
A 100-hour First Class trial is available. Paid plans include Economy Class at $1.95/month and First Class at $2.95/month, with yearly and lifetime options. Prices are in USD and VAT may apply. See the pricing page for current access terms.
